April Starbox - Create a fresh face for Spring with neutrals! {Review}

My apologies for getting this review up a bit late, but we've had some craziness going on at the house, including a job loss. 

Yikes!

April's Starbox by Starlooks features neutral shades and products to help bring out your natural beauty, just in time for a fresh start for Spring!

April's Starbox came with the following:

• Tendergloss Lipstick

So many subscription boxes these days provide only sample sizes of products to "try and buy," and it's very refreshing to find a great buy like Starbox that includes FULL-SIZE items!

First up for review, the Translucent White Mineralized Powder. Some Starboxers received the shade translucent nude, but either way this powder goes on pretty sheer and clear. It's purpose? To help set makeup and absorb shine, giving your skin a matte and velvety finish. Each comes with a powder puff for application, but I prefer my handy kabuki brush. This super-light powder really does absorb oil and sweat without totally overdrying my skin or looking cakey, it's great! It does tend to mute any colors you've applied a bit, as any layer of powder will do, but is perfect for that fresh Spring look.

Next up, the Sensation Mascara Primer. This is the first Starlooks products that I can say I'm not much of a fan of, unfortunately, but that doesn't mean that you won't love it. You see, my lashes are tiny, sparse, and nearly blonde, making it difficult for them to stand out. This mascara primer/conditioner definitely added a little bit of length, but I found it difficult to apply to my lashes and they just felt a little heavy while wearing it under my Starlooks mascara (which I love.) It looks gluey and a bit stringy, and I had a hard time avoiding clumps on my little lashes. With thicker, fuller lashes, though, I can see this working wonders!

The Tendergloss Lipstick shade I received was Trinity, and it's absolutely gorgeous! Mostly sheer with a hint of nude sparkle, this shade matched my lips almost perfectly. Most nudes are either way too pale for my colorful lips or make me look washed out, but this one provides just the right amount of color and shine. I have one other Tendergloss lipstick and can attest to the incredible moisturizing powers this formula has, not to mention the fact that it glides on effortlessly. It's like putting on a chapstick, easy and a lot more beautiful. Check out the swatch below, so bronzy!

Starlooks Mint Lip Balm has become my "go-to" lip balm, and that's saying something...I'm a lip balm addict! It has a light, sweet minty flavor that lasts on my lips long after the balmy-feeling is gone. I put this balm on at night before bed and wake up in the morning with a layer of minty goodness on my lips, yum! It also has SPF 15 protection (very important) and contains aloe vera and jojoba seed oil for conditioning. This product definitely gets two HUGE thumbs up!

In addition to my April Starbox, I also get to review one extra Starlooks product per month. Yippee! This month I received Glitter Glam in BB Pink. Check it out:

Glitter Glam is a small container of super-fine pigmented glitter to apply just about anywhere: eyes, lips, face, body...wherever you want to shine.  I'm normally not a pink person, but this pink isn't "out there-pink" like others I've seen. In fact, as you can see from the streaked swatches below, it's pretty bronzy. Love!

I now use this on top of whatever eye shadow colors I am using for the day to add a touch of golden shimmer to my look. Glitter Glam also works well when added to your body lotion for a glittery beach look. It really catches the light and plays-up my skin, what a great and versatile product!

This gift set makes the perfect new-Father's Day present for any Daddy! It comes complete with a New Daddy t-shirt, pocket protector with "I'm the Daddy!" pens, and a magnetic punch-out photo frame.

The t-shirt is nice and comfy and made of 100% cotton. It's a thick material, so this shirt should stand through all the trials that a new baby can dole out on parent's clothing. I love that this shirt is printed with the year of birth, what a keepsake!

The pocket protector is cute, albeit a little outdated. I don't think I've seen anyone wear one of these....well, ever. I really do like the idea of it, though! This will come in handy for a new dad, especially while at home recording everything in a baby book or on a poop/pee chart to track progress. The protector comes with several I'm The Daddy pens, which write beautifully and are comfy to use.

I'm a huge magnet fan. Like woah. My fridge is covered. The Certified New Daddy magnet included in this set is actually TWO magnets in one: the inner footprint section pops out to create a photo frame perfect for a snapshot of daddy and baby, cute! 

We loved the Certified New Daddy Gift Set! I'd very much like to see a little something extra added to the set in the future, maybe an I'm The Daddy mug or water bottle, to kinda round-out the set.
